SELF-DRIVING TECH IN LEXUS VEHICLES

January 14th, 2019 by

As one of the world’s leading luxury automakers, Lexus is also at the forefront of autonomous, or self-driving vehicle technologies. While there are not yet any commercially-available Lexus vehicles that can drive themselves, 2019 Lexus vehicles available at our LEXUS DEALERSHIP SERVING WESTON, FL do have a long list of autonomous tech features that make driving easier and safer.

Coming standard on most 2019 Lexus vehicles, such as the 2019 LEXUS NX 300 is the Lexus Safety System+, which is the automaker’s version of self-driving safety technology. Lexus Safety System+ is an integrated suite of four advanced safety systems which are designed to help drivers in certain circumstances, from alerting you to the presence of pedestrians to helping you maintain a set speed. Here are some of the features that you’ll find in LEXUS SAFETY SYSTEM+.

Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection: This system is designed to detect vehicles or pedestrians in the path of your Lexus vehicle. If the system detects that a collision is imminent, it will activate an audio and visual alert, as well as automatically preparing Brake Assist to stop the car.

Intelligent High Beams: Intelligent High Beams are designed to provide added visibility for you and other drivers. When the road ahead is clear, the system sticks with high-beam mode, and then switches to low beams when it detects a vehicle ahead.

All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control: This intelligent system utilizes radar and camera technology to help drivers maintain a steady speed and following distance away from the vehicle ahead. The system will automatically slow your vehicle if it detects that you get closer than the preset distance.

To test out the Lexus self-driving technologies for yourself, head on over to Lexus of Pembroke Pines for a test drive today.
